JAMES A. KELLER, age 78 of Waseca died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.
Born on January 25, 1940 in Waseca, Minnesota, he was the son of Arnold and Hazel (Gilhart) Keller.  Jim graduated from Waseca High School in 1958 and through the years remained active in planning class reunions.   He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1959 and served until his honorable discharge in 1962.  Following his time in the service, Jim returned home and helped his father farm.  Jim married Marian Soost on April 1, 1967 in Wells.  Jim was employed for the U.S. Postal Service for 39 years, retiring as Postmaster of Waldorf.  He also continued to farm through the years.   Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid outdoorsman.   He had also been active with scuba diving and was a private pilot and former member of the Civil Air Patrol.  He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca where he served on the church council.   Jim was also a member of the Waseca American Legion, DAV and the Waseca Masonic Tuscan Lodge #77.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marian of Waseca; children, Charles Keller of Eagan, Sara (Robert) Bodinus of McHenry, IL and their children Carly and Ava, Jolene (Scott) Kilmer of Waseca and their children, Nathan, Hannah, and Alyssa, Heidi (Gregory) Veazie of Montgomery and their daughter Emma, and Emily (Caleb) Peterson of Cloquet and their children Brianna and Isabelle.   He is also survived by one sister, Marilyn Matson of Spring Valley; former sister-in-law, Ivalee Keller Clark; and many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eric; one brother, Donald; and brother-in-law, Dr. Roland Matson.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 2-6 PM with a 6:00 PM Masonic Service and will continue on Sunday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Victor Waters officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
