Insuk Bollmann

INSUK BOLLMANN, age 78, of Mankato, died on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, surrounded by her family at her home in Mankato.

InSuk Bollmann lead a remarkable life, starting in InCheon, Korea, where she was born. She grew up in Taegu, Korea where she was always involved in sports and was runner-up in the National Table Tennis Championship. After high school Suk learned English and started working for the US Government in Seoul, Korea, where she met her future husband James (Jim). After Jim’s military service, InSuk moved to the US and started a new life in Pemberton, MN. She came to the United States in March 1973 and on June 23, 1973, she and Jim were married. There they raised children, SoAe, WonSik and Kim. They moved to Mankato, MN in 1989. That home became the gathering place for their children, grandchildren and great grandchild. Suk’s family was her focus, and she always took time and care to make sure they were all well. In her spare time, she would be cooking amazing meals and watching any Minnesota sports event that she could.

InSuk is survived by her sister Inhoo (in Korea) and stateside by her husband James (Jim), children SoAe Meyer (Rick), WonSik Bollmann (Kelly) and Kim Bollmann (Fred Brown-Williamson), grandchildren Brandon Meyer (Hope), Courtney, Ashley, Justin, Candice, Lindsey, Freddy and great grandchild, Violet.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato.
