Howard Carter

HOWARD JAMES CARTER, age 79 of Mankato died on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Rivers Edge Hospital in St. Peter.

Born on July 21, 1940 in Plymouth, Indiana, he was the son of Wilson and Ruth (Cross) Carter. Following his schooling, Howard served in the U.S. Air Force. Upon his discharge, he worked in several states before moving to Minnesota where he was employed with Kato Engineering for many years. He retired as Military Sales and Program Manager. Howard loved antique cars, entertaining and throwing parties.

He is survived by one sister, Patsy Waller of Mankato; one brother, Walter (Peggy) Carter of Janesville; brother-in-law, Charles Whitehead of Granbury, TX; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lenora Whitehead; and one great nephew, Gavin McCarty.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato. Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services of Janesville is handling arrangements. dennisfuneralhomes.com
