Gloria Flitter

GLORIA JUNE FLITTER, age 89, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Born on June 5, 1933, in Elysian Township, Le Sueur County, to Carl and Lydia (Quiram) Linde. She grew up on a farm in rural Janesville and attended Janesville Public School, graduating with the class of 1951. On February 8, 1952, Gloria was united in marriage to Orville Flitter and together they made their home in Janesville while raising four children. Gloria worked for many years at Brown Printing and Birds Eye in Waseca until retiring on September 17, 1999. Gloria worked hard throughout her life whether it was at her place of work, taking care of her children and household and being a caregiver to her husband until he passed away on May 28, 1987.

In her free time, Gloria enjoyed tending to her gardens, bird watching, reading the newspaper, keeping up on current events, and listening to music. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Gloria was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. She lived her life for others. Blessed be her memory.

Gloria is survived by her children: Linda Burhop of Janesville, Lowell (Nancy) Flitter of Janesville, Lynn (Wanda) Flitter of Pequot Lakes, and LeRoy (Melinda) Flitter of Janesville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Becky Linde of Janesville, Diane (Ron) Walters of Wells, and Rick (Lori Blasing) Linde of Janesville; brother-in-law, Delfon Flitter of Janesville; sisters-in-law: Betty Flitter of Janesville and Sandra Flitter of Elysian; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Cody Flitter; and siblings: Shirley Witt; Orville Linde, and Don Linde.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Interment will be in St. John – Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township, Waseca County. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
