GERMAINE MARY REPPEL, age 81 of Wells, formerly of New Orleans, died on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Parkview Care Center in Wells.
Born in New Orleans, LA, on December 30, 1938, Germaine was the daughter of Alfred John and Thelma Louise (Clark) Reppel. After graduating from Warren-Easton High School in New Orleans, she became heavily involved in “Rainbow Girls”, a Masonic youth service organization associated with the Order of the Eastern Star. She was proud to have become “Worthy Advisor” during her involvement there. She began her working life as an operator for Bell South Telephone. Her later working years, though, were spent as a bank teller – first at the Bank of Louisiana and later at Crescent City Bank and Trust. Although she enjoyed music, singing, and crosswords and other puzzles, her life’s passion was caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A woman of deep faith and heart, her daughters describe her as a Prayer Warrior and a strong woman of God that always managed to maintain a sharp sense of humor. She was a member of Wells Assembly of God and a former member of Celebration Church in New Orleans.
Germaine is survived by two daughters, Desireé Reppel Barlow of Metairie, LA and Hope (Grant) Thursdale of Minnesota Lake; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Ronald (Carol) Reppel of Gonzales, LA, and Cheryl Reppel of New Orleans, LA. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.
Memorial Service will be on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Wells Assembly of God in Wells Minnesota.
