GEORGE ANTHONY HINTON, age 49 of Waseca, died at his home in the early morning of Friday, January 27, 2023
George was born on March 7, 1973 on the Whitman Air Force Base in Missouri to parents Kenneth and Sutchai (Busai) Hinton. His family moved around when he was young, but he attended much of his early schooling in the Winona area before graduating from Waseca High School. He then continued his education at Winona Vo-Tech where he was trained to work in tool and die. On May 1, 1999 George was united in marriage to Rachel Claeys at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna. George worked at Truth Hardware for 20 years. Spanky’s Double B BBQ is what he is well known for and making all the good “George’s Meats”. He enjoyed softball, pool, hunting, fishing, archery, drawing, and wrestling.
George always supported his friends and family with anything they had a passion for. He was a great son, husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, and friend, and he greatly loved each and every individual in his family although anyone who knew him knew his daughter was “his #1 babygirl”. He was also always there to help anyone in need in any way that he could. He had the kindest heart and a smile that could light up a room. George had a great sense of humor, and if a person were upset he could always make them laugh, find a smile, and be happy. He will be greatly missed.
George is survived by his wife, Rachel of Waseca; four children, Austin Hinton and his fiancé Maegen, Cody Hinton and his fiancé Trish, Kimberly Hinton, and Kenny Hinton, all of Waseca; both of his parents; one granddaughter, Violet Hinton; and one sister, Kendra Hinton.
A visitation and celebration of George’s life will be hosted by his family at the Waseca Archery Club on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m.
A BBQ for friends and family will be held (rain or shine) all day on Saturday, May 20th at George's home: 306 2nd Ave NE, Waseca, Minnesota 56093 .
