Frederick Lorentz

FREDERICK JOSEPH LORENTZ, age 69, of Janesville died on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Born on February 28, 1953, in Waseca to Ernest and Isabel (Lynch) Lorentz. Fred attended Janesville High School, graduating with the class of 1971. He continued his education at Vermillion Community College in Ely where he studied Forestry. Following his education, Fred began working at National Parks including Smoky Mountain, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Shenandoah. He also worked as a over the road truck driver for many years. In his early years, Fred loved snow skiing and running. He enjoyed country music, nature, spending time outdoors, fishing, and bowling. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville.

Frederick is survived by his siblings: Kathleen Lorentz of Janesville, Barbara Lorentz of Lakeville, and Roderick (Diane) Lorentz of Janesville; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
