ELROY "ROY" EDWARD BERG, age 74 of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Traditions in Waterville.
Born in Hutchinson, Minnesota on July 24, 1944, Roy was the son of Milo and Evelyn (Hable) Berg.  He was baptized in Franklin on October 15, 1944 and was later confirmed into his faith on May 17, 1959.  He went to school in Franklin and graduated with the class of 1964 before enlisting in the United States Navy.  Following his honorable discharge Roy was married to Sharon Palmer in 1970 and together they had two children. They later divorced.  Throughout most of his life he worked as a professional truck driver.  Roy was later married to Joanne Johnson until they later divorced.  When he retired at the age of 57 he moved from his long-time home in Lakeville to Montgomery.  Roy was a "Harley Man" and he loved going to Sturgis and other bike rallies.  He also loved spending time fishing with friends and family, helping others with anything they needed, and attending his grandchildrens sporting events.
Roy is survived by two children, Shannon Berg of Morristown, and Dan (Tanya) Berg of Chanhassen; six grandchildren, Felicia, Nik, Alx, Lindzey, Brooke, and Jake; one great-grandchild, Ezra; his previous wives, Sharon (Lynn) Throne and Joanne Berg; and three siblings, Ray Berg of Gibbon, Allen Berg of Nevada, and Kathy Hauser of Mankato.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters-in-law, Marge Berg and Louise Berg; and one brother-in-law, Corney Hauser.
A visitation will be held from 10:30AM until 1:00PM on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville.  Visitation will close promptly at 1:00PM in order to allow a graveside service to follow at 3:00PM at Franklin Cemetery in Franklin, Minnesota.
