Elizabeth R. Moe January 19, 1925 - April 7, 2013

Elizabeth R. Moe, age 88, of Faribault, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Clare Bridge of Plymouth Assisted Living in Plymouth, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church in Faribault, with the Rev. Dennis Tamke, Pastor, Officiating. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services.

Elizabeth Rachel Traeger, the daughter of Carl and Ruth (Hertzler) Traeger, was born on January 19, 1925 in Faribault. As a young girl she attended Garfield Elementary School and later graduated from Faribault High School with the Class of 1942. After high school, Liz attended Hamline University and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education in 1946. Later that year, Liz began her 41 year career as a Business Education Teacher. She began teaching at Fairfax High School and in 1949 moved to Blue Earth High School until 1952 when she returned to Faribault and taught at area schools including, Morristown High School, Bethlehem Academy and then was hired on full time at Faribault Senior High School. Her career would cover 35 years at Faribault and she retired in 1987. On August 3, 1952 she was united in marriage to Olaus Moe at the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church in Faribault. Mr. Moe preceded her in death on November 23, 1995. Liz enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to three different bridge clubs, playing the piano and working on genealogy for herself and others. She was an active member at her church helping on the History Committee, as a Circle Chairman, kept records for the Memorial Committee, Ocneedus Fellowship and as a money counter. Liz was a member of many organizations including the Chapter AR P.E.O. Sisterhood, Delta Kappa Gamma, Travelers Club, Rice County Historical Museum, Sons of Norway Chapter in Northfield, MN, Maple Lawn Cemetery Board, Historical Preservation Committee for the City of Faribault and was instrumental in planning many of her high school class reunions.

She is survived by her two sons, Bradley (Cynthia) Moe of Plymouth, MN and Steven Moe and partner Tina Hardin of Minneapolis, MN; by three grandchildren, Genevieve (Sam) Nelson of Springfield, MO, Jeffrey Moe of Duluth, MN and Kaitlin Moe of Plymouth, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Kirsten Ann Moe, brother, Charles Traeger and sister, Kathleen Hedtke.
