DONALD GEORGE LOHSE, age 91 of Waseca, died on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
Born on March 25, 1924 in Defiance, Iowa he was the son of George and Alice (Brensel) Lohse.  Don graduated from Welcome High School in 1941 and entered the U.S. Navy in 1943.  Following his discharge in 1946 he began his career as an electrician in Fairmont.  On January 18, 1947 he married Thelma Bleakley in Welcome.  They moved to Waseca in 1950 and he worked as an electrician at Birdseye Division of General Foods, Brown Electric and Brown Printing Company, retiring in 1989.  In his free time, Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, woodworking and gardening.  He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca, the Waseca American Legion and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Don is survived by two daughters, Georgia (Ed) Goodman of River Falls, WI and Janis (Kelby) Fode of Sioux Falls, SD; one son, Paul (Linda) Lohse of Waseca; four grandchildren, Michael (Jean) Cowles, Elizabeth (Joe) Provancha, Jennifer (Jeff) Spencer, Jeffrey (Rachael) Fode; one step granddaughter, Andrea Morris; seven great grandchildren, Emily, Perry, Taylor, Megan, Mason, Isaac and Andrew; three siblings, Bruce (Sandi) Lohse of Rochester, Virginia (Edward) Cosmillo of Overland Park, KS and Helen (Dennis) Klenz of Austin, TX; sisters-in-law, Donna Lohse and Barbara Lohse; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers-Merle Lohse and Dale Lohse and two sisters-Doris Stokes and Betty Kramer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Victor Waters officiating.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00am – 12:00 noon prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.  Memorials are preferred to Faith United Methodist Church.
