DAVID RICHTSMEIER, 61, of Waseca, MN, owner of 100 Beatles T-shirts and over 1,000 music CD’s and albums of all genres of music, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on January 26, 2023.
Growing up in Babbitt, MN was a wonderful childhood, with lots of fishing and camping, surrounded by loving family and friends. Following his graduation in 1979 and some secondary education at UMD in Duluth, MN, he moved down to Waseca in the late 80’s and ultimately began a career with the Sam’s Club/WalMart family and was a friendly face to the community there for nearly 30 years. It was also in Waseca that he met the love of his life, Bev Krause. They married on September 19, 1993, and they remained devoted to each other for nearly 30 years.
In addition to his fierce love for music, Dave was also an avid sports fan, rarely missing a Vikings or a Twins game, and also loved adulthood camping & traveling, especially visits to see the kids and grandkids in Montana. He loved his wife and family to pieces, and made us all laugh when we spent time together. He was a good man with a heart of gold.
Dave is survived by his wife Bev; daughter Wendy (Jake) Wagner; son Mike; sister Carol Anderson; brother Steve (Heather) Richtsmeier; Step-Mom Barb Richtsmeier; granddaughter Jessica (Sheldon) Benedict; great-grandson Jason Benedict; sister-in-law, Carol (Terry) Jewison; nieces; nephews; and grand-nieces and grand-nephews; as well as aunts; uncles; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Shirley; and grandson, Stan Wagner.
A public visitation will be held for Dave on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral Home in Waseca. A gathering for all of Dave’s friends and family will follow at Barden’s Bar in Waseca.
