Daniel Kemmits

Daniel Asher Kemmits passed away August 9th, 2019 surrounded by his family at his sister, Victoria's home in Emmons, MN after a courageous fight with cancer.
Funeral service will be 11 AM on Monday, August 12, at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Service ~ McRaith Chapel of Waseca. Interment will be in Woodville Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the McRaith Chapel in Waseca.
Daniel was born October 29th, 1994 in Owatonna, MN to Michael and Jean Kemmits of Waseca. He was homeschooled for his K-12 education, and was pursuing a degree in graphic design before his health caused him to end his studies.
He loved spending time with his family, studying God's Word, working, hiking, and being outdoors. Daniel's life was full of many interests and accomplishments. He was an avid reader and had an extensive library.
He liked writing, was a published author, and served briefly as an associate editor for an online magazine. Daniel enjoyed a job well done and was a hard worker. He worked at Kwik Trip, Park Place Packaging, Odenthal Meats, and Cabela's. He was also a bladesmith and thoroughly enjoyed making knives.
Learning new things and sharing with others were a driving force in his life. He enjoyed volunteering at River Bend Nature Center and helping young children to learn about the natural world. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, rockhounding, and shooting sports. He was a junior black belt in Haidong Gumdo, a Korean sword martial art.
He was preceded in death by one grandmother, both grandfathers, and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his parents, sister, and extended family, as well as many close friends.
His loving heart, generous spirit, and warm smile touched so many lives. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
