Cherie Lynn Mckinney

CHERIE LYNN McKINNEY, age 51, of Morristown, died on Monday morning, March 21, 2022, at her home following an extended battle with cancer.

Born on August 13, 1970, in Spring Valley to James and Marilyn (Vickerman) McKinney. She attended Johnson High School in St. Paul where she graduated with the class of 1988. Cherie continued her education at Minnesota State University in Mankato. On November 6, 1995, Cherie was united in marriage to Joel Kelly at the Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul. Together the made their home in Elysian and later in Morristown where she made lifelong friends. Cherie worked in the health care field throughout her life, most recently at Rison Homes in Faribault until her cancer diagnosis in December of 2019. Cherie enjoyed crafting, gardening, going to garage sales and thrift shopping. Above all else, Cherie cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Cherie is survived by her husband, Joel Kelly; daughters: Erica (Cody Wilcox) Kelly and Kaylee McKinney; four grandchildren: Avalynn, Noah, Hazel and Liam; mother, Marilyn Bartch; siblings: Kate, Melissa, Rebecca, Timothy, Lyle, Jeremy, Jason, James, John, Chris, Mikey, Kenny, and Randy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by her father, and brother, Troy.

A Celebration of Cherie's Life will be held later in the summer.
