Charles William Smith

CHARLES WILLIAM SMITH, age 78 of Waterville, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 4, 2022.

Born is Webster, FL on August 5, 1943, Charles was the son of John and Beatrice Smith. He attended Sumter County Senior High while he was young. Following his education, he joined the US Army, earning the rank of sergeant. He served in the Vietnam War where he received a purple heart. After his military discharge, he moved to Minnesota where he met the love of his life. On May 29, 1978, he married Susan K. Frykman in Bloomington. They were married for 42 years until Susan passed away on January 6, 2021. Charles worked at SupraColor Labs for some time before becoming a computer operator at B. Dalton Books which later became Carlson Companies and Optum Health. He retired in 2019 and spent his free time reading and spending time with family and friends.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Alexis F. Smith of Waterville; siblings, Barbara of Florida, Kathy of Florida, and Steven (Sheila) of Florida. He is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Smith; and parents, John and Beatrice Smith.
