Carol 'Butchie' Oskey July 5, 2010
Carol Jean Oskey, age 67 of Waseca, died on Monday, July 5, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 8th at 2:00 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca with Rev. Chris Meirose, Officiate. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Waseca. Visitation will be held on Thursday afternoon from 12:00 noon until the hour of service, at McRaith Funeral Home. Carol Jean was born on September 24, 1942 in Springfield Minnesota to Duane and Helen Halverson. She attended Waseca schools and was very active in cheerleading and the Waseca Athletic Association. Carol graduated from Waseca Central High School in 1960. After High School she managed The Jungle Bar and Restaurant in Adams Minnesota. She then moved back to the Waseca area and owned and operated Carol''s Thrift and Tanning in Waterville for 2 years. Most recently she was employed at the Nifty Thrifty store in Waseca. She was a member of AA of Waseca and was proud of her goals and accomplishments. Carol enjoyed flower gardening, crafts, cooking, baking, eagles and angels. She thoroughly enjoyed riding motorcycle, especially Harley Davidson''s. The most important part of Carol''s life was her love for her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is survived by her children; Troy Murphy of Waseca, Shaun (Linda) Murphy of Morristown, Paula (Tracy) Fredenburg of Waseca and Kelly (Jason) Dillon of Waterville; by her 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; by her special friends Sharon Weckwerth, Maggie Krassin and Peggy Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her daughter Carrie Lynn Schuster; and by her granddaughter Tressa Marie Cassidy.
