BETTY JANE TAYLOR, age 88 of Elysian died on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Born on July 6, 1929 in Elysian, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Fred and Olga (Linnum) Siefert.  She attended school in rural Elysian before graduating from Waterville High School.  She married Earle Taylor on May 21, 1949 at the Elysian Methodist Church.  Betty Jane worked primarily as a homemaker, later working as an aide at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.  She enjoyed gardening, baking, traveling, going to garage sales, singing, bible studies, and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Elysian Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for over 60 years.
She is survived by her husband, Earle of Elysian; six children, Robert (Marsha) Taylor of Medford, Richard (Jeanette) Taylor of Elysian, Charles (Lisa) Taylor of Waterville, Lori (Bruce) Smith of Waterville, Lynette (Phillip) Spurgin of Rosemount, and James (Becky) Taylor of Waterville; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister, Donna Remiger of Waterville and several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Jerry Remiger; and Auntie, Hilda Haley.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 4:00 PM at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waterville.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of services at the church.  Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian.
