Betty A. Gottschalk, age 83, of Janesville, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 13, 2014, at her home.

Funeral services will be held on SATURDAY, JANUARY 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, with Pastor Paul Muther and Pastor Jack Dahl, officiating. Interment will be held at the Janesville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church on SATURDAY from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements are being completed by the Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville.

Betty Ann, the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle (Rake) Yahnke, was born on November 22, 1930 in Buffalo Center, Iowa. She attended school in Buffalo Center prior to her family moving to other various schools before settling in the Waseca area. On December 2, 1948, Betty was united in marriage to Herbert C. Gottschalk at the Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca. They have lived their entire married life on the Gottschalk farm in Alton Township, where Betty enjoyed helping Herb with all aspects of farm life. She also worked various jobs at E.F. Johnson, Brown Printing, and Bird''s Eye in Waseca over the years. Family was everything for Betty. She was always willing to help out whenever she could. She also enjoyed playing cards and scrabble, playing the piano, visiting with family and friends, being involved with the Waseca County Extension Club and Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Herb of Janesville; her children, Carolyn (Daryl) Kohlhoff of Baraboo, WI, Joyce (Patrick) Wondra of Pennington, MN, Diane (Lyle) Schlaak of New Richland, Gary (Kay) Gottschalk of Janesville and Ronald Gottschalk of Apple Valley; her grandchildren, Jessica (David) Kohlhoff, Stephanie (Nathan) Huff, Melissa (Tom) Haack, Kari (Lee) Rettig, Kyle (Lisa) Schlaak, Katie (Gabe) Waddell, Kayla Schlaak, Jeff Gottschalk, and Hannah Mitstog; her twenty three great grandchildren; her

sister, Mavis Baker of New Jersey; her brother-in-law, Loren Gottschalk of Waseca; her sister-in-law, Lois Gossman of Janesville, and by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother-in-law, Lee Baker.
