Born on July 20, 1937 in Mankato to Claude and Sophie (Gilbertson) Ziegler. She was raised in Rapidan and graduated from Rapidan High School in 1955. Together they made their home on the farm outside of Janesville while raising their three children. Children were extremely important to her, after her children had left the house, she focused her attention to her grandchildren and most recently her great grandchildren. Barb enjoyed gardening, crafting, reading and fishing. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church were she was active with the Dorcus Society.
