Arthur William Meyer, age 72, of Waldorf, died peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his home following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf, with Reverend Michael Mathews officiating. Interment will be held at St. Joseph''s Community Cemetery in Waldorf.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville and at the church on Monday one hour prior to services.

Arthur William, son of William and Alice (Wessels) Meyer, was born on June 23, 1942 at home in Titonka, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in Ramsey Reform Church in Titonka. He graduated from Lakota High School in 1960. Arthur was united in marriage to Linda Siemens on May 8, 1966 in Nashua, Iowa. He managed a fertilizer plant for many years before becoming a truck driver and retiring in 2010. Arthur loved tractors, outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling, and he especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Meyer; children, Sheri (Jerry) Vonfeldt of Fairmont and Ron (Gina) Meyer of Minnesota Lake; his grandchildren, Kaylea Vonfeldt of Mankato, Logan Vonfeldt of Fairmont, Andrew (Morgan) Karels of Amboy, and Elizabeth Karels of Madison Lake; brother, Al (Rene) Meyer of Rock Island, Illinois; and many of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Luella Siemens; and several aunts and uncles.
